Do I have to purchase 55 gallons of paint, or can I get 50 gallons of paint in a 55-gallon drum?

No, we can fill a 55-gallon drum to any amount of paint that you specify. Most of our customers specify 50 gallons of paint in a 55-gallon drum to minimize the potential of spillage.
What is the delivery time on a truckload of traffic paint?

Maximum delivery time is 10 days after receipt of your order. However, delivery is generally accomplished in four days
How long of time is your traffic paint guaranteed?

Products are guaranteed for one year from the date of delivery.

Can I purchase traffic paint in 5-gallon pails?

Yes, five-gallon pails are available upon request.

Does your traffic paint meet the DOT specification 971-19?

Yes, Pride’s traffic paint meets or exceeds this specification.

Can I obtain a certification of the traffic paint that I purchase?

Yes, a certification sheet that shows test results for your specific production lot accompanies all shipments.

How many linear feet will I get out of one gallon of paint using a 15-mil thickness?

At 15 mils, a six-inch line will yield approx. 230 linear feet. At 15 mils, a four-inch line will yield approx. 350 linear feet.

If I want to thin your water based paint down, what do I use and how much?

If thinning is necessary, do not exceed one quart of water per five gallons of paint.
Our trucks will not handle the thickness of paint the DOT uses. Can we receive thinner paint that is compatible withourequipment?

Yes, Pride will work with you to obtain a viscosity that will best suite your particular striping needs.
How can I obtain a price list for your products?

How can I obtain an MSDS sheet for the paint I order?

Each shipment contains a copy of all applicable MSDS sheets. If any additional sheets are needed, you can obtain them from the PRIDE website or by directly contacting the plant.

What temperature range is recommended to apply water based traffic paints?

The recommended air temperature is no less than 50 degrees F and no more than 85%. relative humidity

What do you recommend using to clean up water based traffic paint?

Equipment can be readily cleaned with warm soapy water.

Using your DOT approved traffic paint. What kind of dry times can I expect?

On average, Pride’s paint dries to a “No track” in 60 to 90 seconds.  This is much faster than the approved specification set forth by DOT and in no way compromises its integrity, quality, or durability.

What is the normal weight per gallon on your traffic paint?

On the average traffic paint weighs 13.8 pounds per gallon.

Why does the traffic paint weigh so much?

The heavy weight per gallon is due to the amount of pigment and titanium used in the paint. This higher percentage of solids creates a heavier paint.

What is the average life expectancy of traffic paint on the road?

The average life expectancy of traffic paint is twelve months depending on road conditions, application, usage, and weather.  There have been reports by our customers that they have experienced durability exceeding 18 months or longer.
Can I obtain a notarized copy of the Certification sheet?

Yes, please contact us and we will be happy to provide you with a notarized copy of the certification.
How many pounds of glass beads should I apply to the traffic paint?

The Florida DOT specification requires six pounds per gallon.

What kinds of tests are performed on the traffic paint?

Prides performs many tests to insure the quality of its paint.  Among these are tests for viscosity, weight per gallon, pigment percentage, non-volatiles, opacity, reflectance, flexibility and total solids.
