The printing industry in Florida was particularly depressed by the downturn in the general economy and reduced government spending. PRIDE’s Graphics SBU sales were approximately 15% below the 2007 level. Despite the reduced level of sales, there were many positive developments for Graphics. Growth in fulfillment services appears very promising. Perhaps even more encouraging is the demand for utility billing services, where PRIDE provides complete utility invoicing and mailing services. This service represents a significant savings to budget strapped public utilities.
PRIDE’s School Planner product was modified and expanded to include three new basic planner options. The new planner offering now enables schools to select from a number of standard options that are competitively priced and stocked in inventory for rapid on-time delivery. Custom planners are also available, if desired. The Specialty Graphics Industry was awarded a 12 month contract for the production of approximately 20 million validation decals by the FLorida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. The contract commenced on July 1, 2008, following a very short product development window.
Graphics sales representatives redoubled their presence in many smaller markets and continued to sell their mainstay products of business cards, advertising specialties, binders, decals, and specialty printing.

PRIDE Specialty Graphics has recently experienced an increase in sales, primarily from established traditional state, county and municipal government accounts. The development of new markets and new products also generated significant sales. An emphasis has been placed on efforts for growth among new customers, the competitive bidding market and new product development. Products produced at this industry include screen printing, decals, binders, signage, and file folders.

At PRIDE Central Florida Graphics, 2009 saw a marked increase in Direct Mail Services. Over a dozen governmental and non-profit agencies are now utilizing the new direct mailing capabilities. Additionally, services expanded to include envelope stuffing, labeling, folding and the printing of variable data onto newsletters, reports and information flyers. By increasing services and expanding the clientele base, cost savings were realized on both postage and shipping. This increase in production also highlighted the need for an additional high speed copier. Production in this area has increased from 40% to 65% and the search continues for new opportunities to grow the business.
PRIDE Central Florida Graphics offers full service printing of stationery products (letterhead, envelopes, and business cards), forms, calendars, brochures, and booklets. Services provided include invoicing and mailing fulfillment, desktop publishing, die cutting, foil stamping, and forms management. PRIDE Central Florida Graphics has received multiple print awards from the Printing Association of Florida.
PRIDE Central Florida Graphics' Certificate Programs are awarded to trainees by the Florida Department of Education for a variety of commercial print operations including customer service, administrative, and general office procedures, Computer to Plate and desktop publishing functions, small and large offset press operations, inventory management, quality control, and shipping and receiving. A Graphics Arts certificate is awarded through Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. Other skills taught include reading for information, locating and analyzing information, applied mathematics, computer proficiency, and job readiness.
South Florida Graphics has earned respect and confidence by producing a quality product and satisfying their customer’s needs. A calendar produced for the Jupiter Police Department received the Judges Award from the Printing Association of Florida. Certificates of Appreciation and Excellence were issued to them by one of their largest customers. All inmate workers are certified by Florida’s Department of Education as “Ready to Work”. A “Ready to Work” certification assures potential employers that the recipient of the certification has the basic skill sets to perform successfully in entry level jobs.
PRIDE Digital Services digitizes and indexes working and archival documents, reducing customer’s costs associated with document storage, work processes and personnel. Many of PRIDE’s customers have availed themselves of this cost-saving, quality service.
Digital Services recently expanded its product offering with Direct Mailing Operations (DMO). DMO involves providing mailing services for customer invoicing. It is an exciting high-growth field whose demand is unaffected by recessionary pressures, thus helping to stabilize revenue streams in down years
