PRIDE’s Optical Lab is located within the Florida Department of Correction’s Broward Correctional Institution for Women.  We are the only state approved Optical Apprenticeship Program in Florida.  The Manager of the Optical Lab, Ron Gudehus has been in the optical business since 1968 and holds all the required licenses and certifications.

Within the institution inmate workers have earned certificates issued by the Department of Education to sufficiently produce all different styles and types of eyewear.  Our technicians are expertly trained in producing lenses with plastic, polycarbonate (glass if necessary), and specialty coatings and tinting.  Upon post release many of our ex-offenders put their learned skills to work in successful private or commercially owned optical labs.

QUICK TURNAROUND:  We ship within 48 hours (or two business days) of receipt of prescription.  We ship via UPS or DHL FOB.  The eyewear is shipped in a fabric case, which is placed in an individual shipping box for protection of the eyewear.
